Ingredients
5 Eggs separated
8 oz mixed Nuts (not almonds)
8 oz fine Sugar
8 oz bitter Chocolate grated
2 oz finely chopped candied orange Peel
1 teaspoon Salt
1 pint Marsala
2 slices Bread
2 oz Butter
Method
Beat yolks, pound nuts. Combine with sugar, chocolate, peel, salt and marsala. Crumb bread and fry the crumbs lightly in butter. Grease shallow ovenproof dish, and spread crumbs over. Whisk whites stiffly and fold into nut mixture. Pour into dish and bake 30 minutes in a moderate oven. Serve hot or cold.
