Walnut Pie
Ingredients
8 oz Flour
4 oz Butter
2 tablespoons Icing Sugar
1 large Egg
About 1 tablespoon Water
4 oz soft Brown Sugar
4 oz Unsalted Butter
3 Eggs
Juice and rind of 1 Lemon
6 oz Golden Syrup
8 oz Walnuts
Pinch Salt
Method
Combine flour, 4 oz butter, icing sugar, 1 large egg and about 1 tablespoon of water to make pastry.
Bake blind for 10 minutes.
Cream 4 oz butter and sugar, beat in eggs (3) one at a time, add syrup and lemon and walnuts.
Bake for 3/4 hour (Mark 4) 350 degrees F.
